BOXES
Using good strong, clean boxes taped on the top and bottom with
strong plastic moving tape secures your goods against breakage. This
also speeds up the moving process.
LABEL
Label boxes on their sides with your name on them for easier recognition.
Don’t forget to label those extra fragile boxes "FRAGILE"
and use arrows pointing to the top of the box.
DRESSERS, ARMOIRES,
OR CHEST OF DRAWERS
- Have all furniture completely cleared off and ready to go.
- Your regular clothing may be left in their drawers providing it
doesn’t put under stress on the piece of furniture itself or
the movers.
- Antique dressers, large double or triple dressers are best moved
empty, especially if they are subject to a flight of stairs.
- Remove all valuables or breakables from your drawers. Jewelry or
coins are especially at risk since they can fall out and get lost
or broken. We are not responsible for such items.
DESKS
- Completely empty out the contents of your desk since small items
can fall out and get lost.
- TVs can be boxed or blanket wrapped depending on their size.
PLANTS
We prefer not to move plants, but for those larger ones in pots we
ask that you do not water them 3 to 4 days prior to your move.
Plants tend to leak water and create problems. Plants are not insured
due to their fragile nature.
CLOTHING
Wardrobe boxes are available for hanging clothes. Each box holds approximately
3 to 4 ft. of wardrobe space depending on the density of the clothes.
Wardrobe boxes are a wonderful way to protect your clothes from getting
soiled or wrinkled.
PICTURES AND MIRRORS
For those larger pictures or mirrors that can’t be boxed, we will take
care of those for you. All others should be carefully boxed protecting
glass from breakage or delicate frames from scratches.
APPLIANCES
- All food must be emptied out of the refrigerator and freezer. An
ice chest is good for transporting and or keeping your food cold or
frozen.
- Disconnect washers and dryers ahead of time. This saves us time
and you money.
- Small kitchen appliances should be wrapped and properly boxed. Microwaves
can be blanket wrapped.
LAMPS
- Small lamps should be wrapped and boxed.
- Larger lamps can be blanket-wrapped by our company, but any removable
glass bulbs shades or grass pieces to the lamp should be boxed separately.
- All shades must be properly boxed as they are extremely vulnerable
to damage. (No insurance will be provided on shades that aren’t properly
boxed.)
ELECTRONICS
(These are sensitive machines so…)
- Original boxes are always best for transporting electronics since
they usually have Styrofoam inserts. In the event that you don’t have
the original boxes, use a good strong box with plenty of cushioning.
- Large speakers that can’t fit into a box can be blanket-wrapped
by our company. Small speakers should be boxed.
THE "DREADED"
GARAGE
Please make sure all loose items are boxed and ready to go.
Ever wonder what to do with the plastic garbage cans that have been
outdated? Put your gardening equipment or hoses in them, or maybe even
play or sports equipment that’s kicking around the house. Be creative!
Flammable paints, pesticides, or poisons are illegal for movers to
transport. Please arrange to move those on your own or dispose them
in the proper manner.
PACKING
Packing is one of the most important but sometimes overlooked aspects
of moving. The quality and safety of your office or household move depends

of packing paper is the key! A "How
to Pack Booklet" is available upon request at no charge. This booklet
explains the actual "how to" process of packing fragile china
or breakables.
We are a full service moving company, so don’t hesitate to ask us about
